PERSONALITY At first glance, Tempest comes off as an incredibly stubborn, short-tempered and and stern woman. She's the sort of woman who's mostly set in her views and quick to anger, as well as quick to deal with that anger with either a sharp tongue or, in more extreme cases, a spell or two. Her temper alone has earned her a reputation, as well as her quick, efficient method of handling the jobs she's hired for when she was a mercenary. "The Tempest" is a ruthless, mysterious woman that many step carefully around, lest they welcome her wrath. And for all intent and purposes, she doesn't care that she comes off in that way. With those she doesn't know, she gives off the impression that if you intrude into her space without her explicit permission, she'll make sure you regret it. In her worst moods, she gives short, to the point answers and makes it seem like socializing is a chore. In better moods, she's heavy on the sarcasm. She makes no secret of her moods, and has very little issue taking it out on others in small doses. But once someone gets past the "Tempest persona, they'll find that she's actually a kind, loyal, and caring person who is only just recently learning that not everyone is as terrible as she expects them to be. If she's comfortable with someone she allows them to see her softer side, that comes with a sense of humor and a lot of teasing. While she isn't afraid to speak her mind, she isn't afraid to ask questions, either - especially about things she doesn't understand. While she's fluent in her world's version of English (Common) there is still a bit of a language barrier at times, and even more when it comes to more modern phrasing. Earning her trust is a huge thing to her, but on the flip side it's very easy to make her question it; she can and will take things the wrong way, but it's only because she's so deeply afraid of losing those she cares about that she finds it easier to push people away than risk the chance of losing them more permanently in the future. While she's more forthcoming with her real name, letting people use it is a true sign of the trust she puts in them. To summarize, Tempest likes to come off as a complicated, dark and ruthless woman. But what she really is is a woman who's learning how to live again while at the same time accepting that while her world is as cruel as ever, it's home and she has a duty to protect it - one that's been forced on her, but she's beginning to accept that, too. It's difficult at times, given that she's incredibly stubborn and with a wicked temper to match, but behind all of that is a decent person who cares far more deeply than she lets on.

ABOUT Aurae, better known as Tempest, is a half-Elvish 28 year old mage. While she is skilled with a sword, she prefers her magic overall. She's a mercenary and former soldier, more or less, and has spent a great deal of time traveling across her country. Tempest is originally taken from an old D&D campaign, where her alignment was Chaotic Neutral. APPEARANCE Tempest has blue eyes and dyed dark, brown hair down past her shoulders - when her roots are showing, they're actually a dark blonde. She's somewhat skinny and underweight, but her build is similar to that of a runner's. She's tall as well, at least for her world - standing at just over 5' 9". Lastly, her ears are pointed; they are bigger than an human's ear, but smaller than an elf's. She has scars, those visible being on her hands and going up her wrists from burns she was unable to heal completely. She has scarring over her arms and chest from various injuries over the years, and her back is scarred up, reaching from her shoulders down to the small of her back. There's also a symbol on her left shoulder, burned into the skin that has only just started healing. From her previous game, she has pockmark-like scars going up her left arm, as well as a vivisection scar on her stomach and a scar from a bullet in her knee. Girl was busy. Finally, an unfortunate incident back home lead to the loss of her right hand. She wears a magic-fueled prosthetic made of leather and metal, and keeps it covered at all times with a glove. For the perceptive, she's very careful about overusing it! And for those who knew her before her most recent update, she's not longer missing her ring finger. ABILITIES Tempest is a mage! And in her world, magic is classified into "systems" by race. Since she's a half-elf, she has access to both Elvish magic (which draws it's energies from nature) as well as human magic (which draws from one's inner energies). Her spells range from elemental to shields/binding/sleeping spells. She has mastered the fire aspects of Elvish and Human magic in particular, which really just means she doesn't have to speak the spell to cast it. She's also a decent swordswoman and hand-to-hand fighter when necessary, but she prefers her magic over both if she can help it. Aside from that, being Elvish gives her enhanced senses and strength - nothing overly huge, but she's a little stronger than the average man, can hear people moving through the forest yards away, see in the dark, etc. She's also immune to sleep spells, though with this I go on a case-by-case basis depending upon who's casting it and etc.
